The story behind the name Toque
The toque is a truly Canadian product developed out of pure necessity to cope with our harsh northern winters. Believed to be first used by French Canadian hunters who kept their woolly sleeping caps on during the day to keep warm. The terms toque and tuque are unique to Canada and northern areas of the United States where they mostly use the term Beanie. The toque is classic Canadian icon and will always be a part of who we are.
